Finzean Village Hall, Finzean, Aberdeenshire - Finzean Village Hall Committee
The Village Hall was originally the gift to the Finzean Community by the Farquharson’s of Finzean as a Memorial for the fallen in the First World War. The original timber building constructed in 1922 was all timber and suffered some deterioration with the entire building being run down, cold and difficult to operate. The project started as a millennium project but was considered too small by the commissioners but subsequently succeeded with a lottery grant and the village hall was trebled in size providing multiple use spaces combining the use of traditional materials, passive solar gain and under floor heating to create a lively, vibrant and very active community hall.
Contractor: Stan England, Finzean
