Monaltrie House, Ballater, Aberdeenshire - Mr & Mrs M Pietranek
Another historic Aberdeenshire house originally the home of the Black Colonel, Capt A Farquharson who unfortunately ended up on the wrong side after the, “45” with the house having been burnt down by the Redcoats.  Originally an Aberdeenshire Ha House the present building was extensively altered in the early 19th century and by the 1970’s had become ruinous.  It had been very badly converted on a very tight budget in the early 70’s and acquired by our clients in 2001 required extensive renovation.  A talented interior designer, our client worked closely with us on the renovation of the house to produce a magnificence of Scots Baronial interiors.
